Gay, Marijuana and George Washington?

Marijuana and homosexuality don't really have anything in common, except that America seems to have a strained relationship with them and George Washington might have liked both.

When you look at the two issues together it makes you want to laugh. It makes you think how does America decide what should be illegal. You would laugh, if the reality of the number of people who suffer from these two prohibitions wasn't so... well real.

George Washington would've been a social outcast and likely convict in today's America. According to Huffington Post's Harvey Wasserman, our first president, "definitely" grew hemp, "probably" smoked it, and was "maybe" gay.

In his article, Was George Washington a Gay Pot Smoker, Wasserman also goes on to say, "Today's puritannical "sunshine patriots" seem hell-bent on running our personal lives. But America has never been about that." He's right.

Prohibition has always been a painful farce. Fortunately the persecuted have long found refuge in humor. A tradition Jewish comedians like to take credit for. LegalizeGayPot.com has decided to fight two birds with one shirt, or something like that. Their funny shirts poke fun at and create social defiance against those who stamp out variety in the name of their own comfortableness.

America has always fought against the idea that people should conform to social oppression and mandatory lifestyle repression. That's what preserving the American tradition is all about. The older our nation get's the more we're loosing focus. We lock up millions of our citizens and what's worse we force many more to live in shame and humiliation.

Grinders From Jamullah

Jamullah's Freedom Gift Shop

Jamullah Grinders are cool for a bunch of reasons, but the best place to start is with their price. Each of these grinders are only $18. With a price like that it's hard to believe that these grinders are also awesome in just about every other way too.

These are accessories for true stoners, smokers who take pride in the process of lighting up. At the very least a grinder is useful for easily preparing joints/blunts, helping the weed light easily, and allowing for full vaporization (if you're using a vaporizer). At the most, they can be so much more.

Jamullah grinders are fully functional, and are comparable to the best out there. The one sent to Baked Life was black, but they also come in red and purple. The lid is engraved with Jamullah Fish logo. Each grinder also has three levels.

The first grinds the weed it pieces small enough to fall into the second and middle level. This level has a screen as it's bottom, so that the fine powder, which is a mixture of super finely ground weed and pure THC crystals (kief), can drop into the third level.

A magnetic top and a keef or kief shovel take this grinder into the major leagues. Not to mention Jamullah gives free shovel replacements to buyers and non-buyers alike. Which means you have no reason not to check them out.

Growing Marijuana Outdoors - Looking Around

Have you ever dreamed of stumbling upon a field of marijuana? I know I have, ever since I took that first puff. However, you probably have better chances winning the lotto. You can greatly increase the odds if you create your own pot paradise.

One of the key aspects to outdoor growing is location. The marijuana plant is very hardy and can grow almost anywhere. Ideally you want an area that gets moderate rainfall and sunlight. Small clearings in forests are great because the larger trees will block your plants from being seen.

Make sure the forest is not a popular one or your grow area is deep enough in that no one will find it. Also, you may want to fence off the area with short wire fence, if there already isn't a natural barrier.. This way the local animals will not disturb your plants.

Near a small stream is also a good area.. This eliminates the need to water as the plant gets bigger. Some bad areas are along railroad tracks, a hiking path or corn fields. Corn fields only allow the marijuana plants to get sunlight at noon and if your plants get taller than the corn they will easily be spotted. Also, farmers use fertilizer that may be harmful to your plants.

Another option, if you fear the area has poor soil, is to grow the pot in pots. This has its pros and cons. You will have better control of what goes into the soil, but it will require more watering and attention. Potted plants are also easier to move if need be.

Remember, the key to a good location is secrecy. Don't tell anyone and only visit your plants at night or during the week when you are sure no one will be around. One person seeing you with your plants can lead to jail time. There are risks, but the reward is cheap, homegrown cannabis.

Happy Planting.

Sweet Island Skunk - Baked Life's Strain Encyclopedia - Sativa

Sweet Island Skunk, which also goes by Island Sweet Skunk and SIS, is a Sativa dominant. It could also be classified as a hybrid.

So if you're ever in the tropics and a strange man asks for some of your "sweet island skunk" now know he could be talking about weed. Or maybe he's not and you should run.

SIS has big buds. The nugs are soft but they also feel dense. It has thick orange hairs that wind the whole thing up into a nice green package. The crystals aren't as noticeable on Sweet Island Skunk, but you can see a shiny glaze on the leaves.

There are a smorgasbord of flavors when you light this one up. You will feel like a fine wine connoisseur, trying taste the hints of skunk, fruity sweetness, and chemical overtones. The smell is also really strong. They don't call it skunk for nothing.

After the smoke clears there is a stimulating cerebral high, which progress into a relaxing body high. It's not the type of weed to immobilize you physically, but it is strong enough to make a couple hours disappear.

What Doesn't Sex Sell - Sex in [Pot] Culture

In our post Sexism in Pot Culture, we talked about whether or not sex dominates marijuana culture, media and advertising. Advertisers use pictures of nearly nude girls an so do big name magazines. High Times has even had porn stars, like the infamous Tera Patrick, on their cover.

Sex is definitely a part of pot culture, but they're not the only one's who use it. In fact you'd never guess what industries use porn stars to amplify their message (unless you already looked at the image).

PETA, that's right the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, had "adult film star" Sash Grey stand with them for animal birth control.

Albiet, Sasha Grey is not your average porn starlet. She made waves when she wast cast in the 2009 Steven Soderbergh film, "The Girlfriend Experience".

Pot culture get's a bad rap for using sex to gain the interest of their readers. Maybe the few growing business in marijuana media and advertising do use too much naked hotness, but they're definitely not the problem.

Our society has a backwards relationship with sex. Years of prude restrictions have stunted our progression towards sexual maturity. Internet porn is now a billion dollar industry, while lifestyles that discover the full beauty of sex and sexual relationships are far from the spotlight.

How many people study tantric sex, kama sutra positions, or are able to discuss their sexual maturity with depth. Until we get to the point where porn is no longer our most popular source of sexual knowledge, we'll still see sex skewed in media, advertising, daily conversations, and even in our own minds.

Exposure to sex is more beneficial than it is harmful. At some point we'll get over the images and video, then we'll start learning how to appreciate sex on a higher plane. Or maybe we'll all go to hell.

Weed Brownie Guide - Cannabis Kitchen

To make awesome weed brownies all you need is:

Baked Life Marijuana Oil Recipe
Brownie Mix with Specified Ingredients

Tips/Ideas

There are so many recipe's for weed brownies. All you need to really remember is that the weed will be in the oil. So if you can make marijuana oil you can use any store bought brownie box. Simple right.

When making the oil just know that the standard potency scale is 1 gram of pot per 1 ounce of liquid. There are 8 ounces in a cup, so if you need a cup of oil, you should use 8 grams of marijuana. Potency is really up to you though, you'll have to try however much you think is necessary.

Not all Brownie mixes use the same ingredients. Look at the box when you buy it to make sure you have everything you need. You can also buy extra ingredients like, chocolate chips or powdered sugar.

It's always best to make two batches of brownies. One to get you stoned and one for the munchies. Yeah it is a lot of calories, but if you get a few friends to help you, you'll be okay.

The better the pot is the better the brownies. Fresh ingredients always taste better. You might even want to try a few different strains.
