Afro Samurai: Video Game
Yes it is true, they have made a game based on the Afro Samurai television series, and more importantly Samuel L. Jackson will still be supplying the voice of the main character. Oh my damn, this is going to lead to the release event of our generation. It comes out on January 27, 2009.
It's impossible for me to actually recommend this game to you as I've never played it. Apparently blog writers don't get game-test level press clearance. What I can tell you is that this game promises to be, if nothing else as unique as the show was.
If you don't remember the show I'll refresh your memory. It started with a five year old Afro witnessing his father, and current number one, being killed by the number two. The purpose of the ranking was ,as far as I can tell, to serve as a bad ass gauge. After having his father's head, and the number two head band, shoved into his possession he vows revenge. And from there commenceth the blood bath.
The game designers have promised a new gaming experience, in which you can separate your enemies from any part of their body. They also said that the music in the game actually impacted the action on a basic move to move basis. That sounds insane. From what I've seen in gameplay videos it looks pretty cool, but it the movement might be a little slow and frustrating. Plus, you can never really trust games based movies, much less television shows.
I hope I haven't dampened the mood with all my negativity. If it's any consolation I'm sure any problems the game has will be smoothed over if you simply smoke a bowl or two before engaging. With all this video game talk you probably forgot this was pot blog. Well let that be a lesson to you, we smoke weed here. Happy Tokin' Holidays.
